CBD Therapeutic Potentials

Federal and state regulations create obstacles for researchers who want to conduct cannabis studies. Despite these challenges, researchers worldwide have published over 4,300 scientific papers, and PubMed.gov now cites over 42,500 scientific papers on marijuana. While there is still a significant amount of research to be done, it is clear that cannabis has the potential to benefit many people with various conditions.

Potential Benefits of CBD

Recently, I found an excellent article in The Frontiers Pharmacology Journal that delves into the endless potential of cannabis as medicine. The paper highlights some of the therapeutic potentials of CBD, such as its antibacterialanti-inflammatory, and anticancer activities.

Here are some three benefit potentials of CBD:

Antibacterial properties

CBD has been shown to have antibacterial properties and has been effective against MRSA and E. coli. When combined with some antibacterial medications, CBD’s action is amplified, suggesting that cannabinoids may be used to increase the efficiency and broaden the action of currently available antibiotics.

CBD Therapeutic Potentials
Antibiotic efficiency

CBD was also found to be a synergistic agent when combined with different antibiotics. CBD was found to significantly inhibit the release of membranes that are involved in bacterial communication. When used in conjunction with some antibacterial treatment medication, CBD’s antibacterial action was amplified. These findings suggest that these cannabinoids may be used to increase efficiency and broaden the action of currently available antibiotics.

Anti-Inflammatory

CBD has been found to reduce pro-inflammatory pathways and has been discovered to suppress the activation of the ERK pathway and stop cancer cell growth. Additionally, CBD proved beneficial in decreasing seizure frequency in a comprehensive trial and meta-analysis of its efficacy for treatment-resistant epilepsy.

For more information on each benefit, please read the paper. The authors did a fantastic job explaining the complex and many therapeutic benefits of cannabis. For now, let us relax and enjoy our CBD coffee with a smile.
